Apparently, there is such a thing as a free lunch.
Grubhub announced Tuesday that all of New York City and the surrounding area will receive up to $15 free lunch through its app on May 17.
“72% of New Yorkers think lunch is the most important meal of the day and 81% value it more now than they did before the pandemic,” Grubhub said in a statement. “However, more than half (69%) say they often skip it altogether because they’re too busy or taking fewer breaks.”
The company said that using the promo code FREELUNCH on the app or website on Tuesday, May 17, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. will give eligible users $15 off an order that qualify.
“The benefits of lunch go far beyond the physical: Nearly half of working New Yorkers report that having a real lunch break would improve their mental well-being, and 1 in 5 cities would even prefer a lunch break for higher pay.” said a Grubhub spokesperson, referring to a survey of 1,000 New Yorkers conducted by the company.
