Here’s How the South Tangerang City Government Strengthens Distribution of Social Assistance to Overcome the Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic

POJOKSATU.id, TANGSEL – The South Tangerang City Government (Tangsel) continues to strengthen social safety nets to minimize the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, the Tangsel City Government has also issued a circular letter in order to streamline the distribution of social assistance.

Circular on the implementation of social safety nets in handling the Covid-19 virus pandemic in South Tangerang City numbered 460/1390 / Dinsos / V / 2020.

Head of the South Tangerang Social Service, Wahyunoto Lukman, said that there were several steps prepared by the Tangsel City Government before distributing aid, such as ensuring that beneficiaries were residents who were truly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the distribution of aid using integrated social welfare data (DTKS).

“Synchronization and harmonization of data on social assistance recipients according to criteria and factual conditions in the field through continuous verification, validation, addition, deletion and improvement of other data,” said Wahyu in a written statement, Sunday (20/9/2020).

Regarding the criticism that suspects that there are duplicate data on recipients of social assistance, Wahyu questioned the findings.

According to him, anyone can get social assistance recipient data from the Tangsel City Government website in PDF format.

“But it does not convert PDF to excel format, because there is a possibility that some data errors will appear during the conversion process because there may even be unreadable data,” he said.

Wahyu added, in the verification process carried out by the South Tangerang Social Service together with the Population and Civil Registry Office, all data can be ascertained that it is clear from duplication and has been audited.

Wahyu ensured that the social assistance distribution mechanism carried out by the South Tangerang City Government even received appreciation from the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy.
