More focus, less stress, deeper sleep – regular meditation brings a wide range of benefits. But an important effect of meditation is less often highlighted, while it can drastically affect the quality of our life. Sexologist Chloé De Bie: “Research in sexology has shown the positive effects of awareness and meditation on our sexuality, especially in women.”

Best sex in 10 sessions
It makes sense for meditation to promote your sexuality, according to De Bie. “The things that are practiced with awareness, such as accepting oneself, paying attention to the here and now and becoming aware of life, are all aspects that also have a positive influence on sexuality and relational experience.”

Petit BamBou, Europe’s largest mediation app, is therefore launching a new program called “sexuality and awareness” for those who don’t know where to start. Sexologists and psychotherapists Eugénie Larrivée and Valérie Major have joined forces to develop 10 sessions that will help you develop your sexuality. Whether or not you are concerned about your sexual well-being, meditative exercises make listeners more aware of their body and thus learn to deal with it with more gentleness, curiosity and above all confidence.

But it can also be helpful for people with sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction or female arousal problems. Because the practice teaches Chloé De Bie what often goes wrong: we are so with our heads in the clouds or permeated with stressful thoughts that the connection with our body is completely neglected. No wonder our physical connection with others cannot be optimal.

De Bie regularly gives mindfulness exercises such as homework to his clients. “I’m glad there are now more tools to support people who want to meditate in an accessible way. The benefit of awareness is that you don’t need a sexual partner to work on your sexual experience.

Mindfulness in the bedroom: 3 tips
–
1. Let your inner voice speak: Do you have a border that you don’t want to cross or do you have a certain desire? So say it calmly and honestly and invite your bed partner to do the same.
–
2. Laughing doesn’t hurt: sex and humor go hand in hand because they promote relaxation, the release of happiness hormones and a good relationship in bed.
–
3. Eliminate expectations: things will not always go as planned. You don’t have to meet the other person’s expectations, just have fun and be there.
