In Kandahar, the second largest city in Afghanistan and the site of the militant Islamist group Taliban arose, the group held a victory parade on Wednesday.
It comes after the last US planes left Afghanistan on Monday, and the US and NATO 20 years of war in the country with it was finished. Norway has had a military presence in the country since the turn of the year 2001/02.
The Taliban regained power in the country just over two weeks ago, after the regime was overthrown in 2001 by international forces in the wake of al-Qaida’s terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.
During the victory parade on Wednesday, Taliban soldiers displayed American war equipment, including a large number of off-road vehicles and a helicopter with a Taliban flag hanging behind it. At least one Black Hawk helicopter has also been seen over the city in recent days, writes BBC.
The equipment was seized after Afghan defense and security forces surrendered city after city during the Taliban offensive.

Also Norwegian equipment remained in Afghanistan when the Armed Forces left the country on Monday. At the airport in Kabul, the Armed Forces’ armored cars, ATVs and containers were left standing.
Monday night took the Taliban control of the airport.
On a cricket ground in Kandahar, white-bearded Taliban leaders sat in the shade in armchairs between wooden tables, waiting for the parade to begin. Hundreds of others were gathered on the field, writes NTB.
There have been rumors that Talibans region Haibatullah Akhundzada, who lives in Kandahar, but who has stayed out of the limelight in recent years, was supposed to show up for the parade on Wednesday, but he did not come. The city’s new Taliban governor addressed the crowd.
The day before, thousands of Taliban supporters gathered in the streets of Kandahar, waving flags and shouting “God is greatest” to celebrate the withdrawal of the United States.
The Taliban is expected to announce a new government in a few days. According to the Afghan news channel Tolo News are the talks to establish a new regime in goal.
This is what a member of the Taliban’s cultural commission told the channel. He also says that Haibatullah will have the role of supreme leader of the regime while continuing to be the Taliban leader.
