NEW YORK – In another important step to vaccinate all New Yorkers, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Saturday that New York City-run sites will vaccinate anyone age 50 and older and their birthday companion beginning Saturday. the criteria, without the need for an appointment.

Previously, the Big Apple only offered walk-in vaccines to New Yorkers 75 and older.

“Our priority for the coming months is clear: we need to vaccinate as many New Yorkers as possible,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “By making it easier for New Yorkers 50 and older to get vaccinated, we are on track to fully vaccinate five million New Yorkers by June.”

For his part, Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi released the news on his Twitter account.

Here is the list given by the City of New York where people over 50 years old, and a companion who meets the criteria, can go without an appointment to receive the vaccine.
