Electric Mustang Mach-E has given Ford a real boost here at home. After the first ten months of the year, 5,350 copies of the car were registered on Norwegian plates, which gives it a fifth place in the registration statistics.
Mach-E has also ensured that Ford is again in the top 10 in terms of brand. Sales are up 182 percent, compared to last year.
Now comes an edition many Norwegian customers have been waiting for a long time. The first copies of the top model Mach-E GT have arrived in the country.
Mach-E is basically no slowdown. But here Ford has gone on properly. GT has 487 horsepower. It has a torque of 860 Nm and it does 0-100 km / h in 3.7 seconds.
The corresponding figures for the Mach-E AWD Long Range are 351 hp, 580 Nm and 5.1 seconds.

With this color you really notice the car. For many of the buyers, this is probably also an important point. GT should stand out!

Short accessories list
The ban on gas in this car is simply almost brutal. It accelerates and as usual for electric cars: The forces come instantly. Here you can have a lot of fun, the big challenge is to stay in the skin. If you really want to get what lives in the car, you should take it on the track, possibly travel to Germany and let it stretch out on the Autobahn.
The forces go a little beyond the official range. It is located for this edition of 500 kilometers. The top speed has been increased from 180 to 200 km / h. 4×4 is standard.
The price? 650,000 kroner. And here Ford makes it very easy for customers. All equipment is included, the only thing you can choose extra is a panoramic roof.
The importer does not release specific figures for the sale of GT, but confirms that the response has been very good.
Many became more expensive, but not the Mustang Mach-E

The GT logo is in place in the stern Shall we guess quite a few owners also want to foil on a few stripes?

Switches to GT
– We do not want to go into the exact number or distribution percentage. But we have signed a lot of contracts. With the Mustang Mach-E GT, you get a completely raw, all-electric SUV with acceleration like a super sports car, while you have plenty of room for five people and luggage. The sales figures confirm that this is a car many Norwegians have been waiting for, says Anne Sønsteby who is information director at the Norwegian importer.

– Do you know who chooses the GT version, do they differ from the other customers?
– There are very many of the same customers who choose Mustang Mach-E today, as the price difference between these, relatively speaking, is not very large. We also see that several of today’s customers already choose to switch to a Mach-E GT. Simply car-loving customers who like to have something different than what everyone else has, says Sønsteby.

Some small details have been changed in the interior, but here Ford has been quite careful.

Gets a car soon
She also confirms that the Mustang Mach-E has given Ford many new buyers:
– We think it is very fun to experience that many who have not previously driven Ford now flock to our dealers, both to buy Mustang Mach-E and Mustang Mach-E GT. In addition, we see that many of our good Ford customers for many years now buy the popular electric car – and also the GT version, says Anne Sønsteby.
So there are some copies in Norway now, and soon you can start looking for the GT version on the roads:
– The very first customer cars will be delivered these days, the volume deliveries will start in 2022, says Anne Sønsteby.

More than 5,000 copies of the Mustang Mach-E are already rolling on Norwegian roads, the car has given Ford a real boost here at home.

Completely untamed
In addition to giving the car more power, Ford engineers have also worked on the driving characteristics. The car has Magneride active dampers. It has also been lowered 1.7 centimeters and now has 13 centimeters of ground clearance. Brembo brakes with red calipers are in place.
“Completely untamed” is the driving mode when you really need to retrieve what lives in the car. Here, the distribution of electricity is balanced and should ensure that you get continuous maximum performance over a longer period, for example when driving on the track. By the way, Ford has also come up with artificial engine sound for those who might want it. Then it sounds like there is a V8 under the hood, not an electric motor …
On the outside, the GT model has been given a little extra decoration, without it being in any way extravagant. Ceilings and mirrors are painted black. The car has a new GT “grill” and larger front splits. At the back there is a large GT logo between the headlights. 20-inch wheels are standard.

The seats on the Mustang Mach-E are a bit of a love-or-hate with some of the owners. The GT version has sports seats with better side support.
–
New sports seats
Inside, you are greeted by new sports seats which is a clear upswing compared to the seats in the “regular” editions. These provide better side support for the back and also feel firmer in the seat cushion itself, although this is still a bit flat. The seats have eight-way electrical adjustment, with memory in the driver’s seat.
Otherwise, there are some GT embellishments and more suede details. Sound systems from B&O are standard.
In addition to this, space and practical solutions are identical. The luggage compartment holds 402 liters, in addition there is 100 liters of frunk in front. Maximum trailer weight is 750 kilos and you can not have a roof load. Ford, in turn, has made a ski hatch, which allows you to have, for example, skis inside the car, instead of on the roof.
On these electric cars you can not have anything on the roof

30 weeks is now estimated as the longest delivery time on the Mach-E GT. Then we are talking early summer next year.
–
30 weeks delivery time
The first customers have thus ordered their cars a while ago. Those who now feel like a Mustang Mach-E GT, must lubricate themselves with a little patience.
– Demand far exceeds what we have available of cars in the short term, and we estimate 30 weeks as the longest delivery time for cars ordered against factory production – this mainly applies to GT at the moment, says Anne Sønsteby in Ford.
