Here the fine weather continues – up to 30 degrees on Saturday

In almost all of northern and central Norway it will be cool and gray weather, while in southern and eastern Norway it will be up to 30 degrees on Saturday.

On Friday, temperatures of over 29 plus degrees were measured in Tveitsund, Byglandsfjord, Valle, Nesbyen and Vestfossen.

There were no tropical nights until Saturday. Gullholmen by Moss and Færder lighthouse had the highest minimum temperature with 19.4 degrees.

It will still be nice weather østafjells. And the further south in the country you come, the greater the chance you have of experiencing the fine weather, says the meteorologist.

– Saturday is currently the last day with 30 plus degrees, but it will be fine in the south and east of Norway, with 20-25 degrees, says on-duty meteorologist in StormGeo, Olav Krogsæter.

Big differences

In other words, it will still be nice and warm in the south and east of Norway. Sun-hungry people can note that in the next few days there will be some clouds.

This is the reason for the big differences in the weekend weather:

  • In the north, a low pressure circulates near Svalbard, and another low pressure is formed on a cold front over northern Sweden and northern Finland and goes north in Finnmark.
  • A high-pressure ridge along the North Sea and southern Scandinavia provides good weather in the eastern mountains.

Western Norway and Central Norway are affected by the low pressure in the north, and only next week does it look like things will get better again in Western Norway.

Unstable in the west

– In northern Norway and central Norway down to Sunnmøre, it looks like there will be westerly winds and rain showers until Thursday. In Western Norway, it will rain today, says Krogsæter.

A low pressure is at rest in the Barents Sea, and causes a lot of rain showers in northern Norway.

– Almost all of northern Norway gets gray weather all weekend. A cold front over northern Scandinavia gives low pressure, and can cause a lot of precipitation in parts of Finnmark. It will mostly rain on the Finnish side and east of Karasjok, says the meteorologist.
