The beginning of the illuminations will take place on Saturday 26 November, from 17:00. Residents will be able to see garlands and other light patterns throughout the city.
A walking show will start on the cathedral esplanade at 5pm. It will occupy Place Jean-Moulin, Place Châtelet and Place des Épars. The procession will then head towards the capital before returning to the cathedral. This parade will be animated by the company Les Ambianceurs between two dates at Disneyland Paris and before a tour in the rest of France.
Specific sets for Christmas
Illuminated Chartres will propose specific scenographies for Christmas. Elves, gifts and snowy landscapes will be displayed on Chartres cathedral, the collegiate church of Saint-André and on the bridges and washhouses of the lower town. A new scenography will be projected on the facade of the Montescot Hotel which will represent a Christmas meal. The illuminations will be visible from 18:00 each evening until 23:30.
The track will be available from December 2nd. Residents will also enjoy a Christmas shop in the Place des Halles from 9 to 24 December. The Christmas animations and shows, co-organized by the City Council and Les Vitrines C’Chartres, will last until January 15th.
