BMW presents the new R 1250 RT. The 2021 model does not see any upheavals with regard to the engine, now Euro 5 homologated, but still capable of delivering 136 HP. The main innovations concern looks, technologies and equipment. As standard, the bike boasts a new “Eco” mode, while the Pro riding modes remain an option with which the engine release torque (MSR) can also be controlled. Dynamic Traction Control DTC is standard. In its latest edition, the R 1250 RT is also equipped as standard with the new BMW Motorrad Full Integral ABS Pro with cornering function. It is a braking system in which both the lever and the pedal are used to distribute the braking force between the front and rear.
Among the great innovations we also find a revised full LED headlight ready to host the optional “Adaptive Turning Light”, where the dipped beam of the headlamp moves to illuminate the curve according to the angle of inclination.
From an electronic point of view we find the standard Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC), “dynamic” in the sense that the preselected speed is kept at a constant level even when driving downhill. If the braking effect of the engine is insufficient, the brake is automatically activated to maintain the desired travel speed. Active Cruise Control (ACC), available as an option, goes a step further: thanks to radar technology, it allows you to travel by controlling the distance, without the driver adjusting the speed according to the vehicle in front. Coupled with the new system, a new 10.25-inch TFT color screen with integrated map navigation and connectivity was introduced. For the first time on a motorcycle, the new 10.25-inch color screen allows you to view a navigation map in the instrument cluster, so no additional display is needed.
Along with the introduction of standard connectivity and the navigation map displayed on the screen, an optional is also available that allows you to house your smartphone in a protected, ventilated compartment equipped with a USB charging port. Finally, BMW presents the Audio 2.0 system, designed to guarantee better sound than in the past.
From the point of view of the look we find a new front fairing that improves the comfort qualities of the R 1250 RT. From this point of view, the new front fairing stands out. In addition to the beautiful basic version in Alpine White 3, the new R 1250 RT is also available in the more refined “Elegance”, “Sport” and “Option 719” Style liveries.
