The Guinean government has provided a first official assessment of the tragedy that occurred in Kaloum where the main hydrocarbon depot was ravaged by a gigantic fire, on the night of December 17 to 18, 2023.
According to the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene who spoke on this subject this afternoon, 13 bodies were deposited in the Ignace Deen and Donka national hospitals which also received most of the injured.
The president of the UNPG Louncény FALL sent on Monday a message of compassion and condolences to the populations of Kaloum and to the people of Guinea in general.
« I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic fire which claimed the lives of several people and injured others. My compassion and condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to all those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. I also wish a speedy recovery to all those injured and hope that they can find comfort and support during this difficult time. » he wrote
