The German company Partisan Motors from the city of Magdeburg, which specializes in the production of SUVs, assembled the first copy of the Russian Lada Niva Legend. This is stated on the official Facebook page of this company. The company stressed that they have dedicated this event to the 50th anniversary of the Volga plant. The first off-road vehicle, assembled in Germany, will soon be delivered to the showroom of the dealer Fahrzeuge Bögelsack Service & Verkauf GmbH from Halberstadt.
Initially, the Germans planned to assemble about 50 Russian “jeeps”. All these cars will receive special plates and anniversary inscriptions. Prices for the Niva German assembly start at 19,900 euros. The German Niva differs from the standard Lada Niva Legend with increased ground clearance, powerful Superra bumpers with space for a winch, snorkel and Goodrich tires. The car also has roof rails, Nolden LED headlights, as well as special door sills, hood and new wheel arches. The interior of the SUV is lined with black eco leather with red stitching.
The company’s announcement does not say anything about the technical characteristics of the new product. Most likely they remain unchanged. The standard car is equipped with a 1.7-liter gasoline engine developing 83 hp. s. and 129 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. Partisan Motors calls the Lada Niva Legend a “legendary model.” Moreover, according to them, the cars are not inferior in “cult” to such SUVs as Land Rover Defender, Mercedes-Benz GK; asse, Toyota Land Cruiser from the 70 series and Jeep Wrangler.
It will be recalled that AvtoVAZ stopped supplying cars to EU countries in March last year, when new requirements for environmental standards came into force. The German company Lada Deutschland, which is a distributor of the Volga Automobile Plant in the European Union, then asked to resume sales of Russian cars in the EU. The head of the company made a petition, which was signed by more than a thousand people, but the initiative did not develop.
