GT3 racing driver Maro Engel demonstrated in a truly impressive way how much the new one Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is close to the world of motorsport, driving the very fast production car on the Nordschleife in Nuremberg.
The record time recorded by the car and officially measured and certified is 6: 48.047 minutes on the same track, including the straight on stretch T13, for a total of 20,832 kilometers. The car is really a splinter and beats the street-legal “sports cars” by placing itself in first place among the unmodified series models. Maro Engel took advantage of all the opportunities offered by the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series: the most powerful engine of the AMG V8 series ever with 730 cavalli, sophisticated aerodynamics and extensive suspension adjustment options.
The tires fitted to the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series are the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R MO with ‘soft compound’, standard and developed with the development partner Michelin especially for the top sports car of the AMG GT series. The highest level of security possible was ensured by the high-performance AMG ceramic composite brake system and the Track Package with rollover protection system and four-point seat belts.
