Here are the specifications for USB4 2.0

The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), the organization for coordinating and managing the USB standard, has now presented the specifications for USB4 2.0. The specifications of the new standard will allow data to be sent and received up to 80 Gbps in both directions simultaneously, double the 40 Gbps manageable by the current USB4. It will also be possible to send or receive information up to 120 Gbps, but then it will be possible to manage only 40 Gbps in the opposite direction, which, with the existing USB4, is the absolute maximum speed.

Charging capacity will also be increased with USB4 2.0 and this by more than double, from 100W offering USB4 to 240W with USB4 2.0.

When the first products and cables with support for USB4 2.0 arrive on the market remains to be seen.
