Here are the smartphone market shares for 2021

Competition in the smartphone market has intensified. According to the second quarter figures of 2021 announced by the market research organization Canalys, Chinese Xiaomi has surpassed the US Apple. Having grown by 83 percent in the last year, Xiaomi surpassed Apple and placed second in the market for the first time in its history.

‘GROWING ITS OVERSEAS BUSINESS’

Ben Stanton, Research Manager of Canalys, stated that Xiaomi’s average selling price is approximately 40 percent and 75 percent cheaper, respectively, compared to Samsung and Apple. “It has increased by 150 percent and more than 50 percent in Western Europe. Xiaomi is focused on displacing Samsung,” he said.
