The northern lights appeared in France, in certain regions, on the evening of Thursday, September 12, 2024. You clearly had to arm yourself with your smartphone or camera to see them properly.
The hunt for the Northern Lights is back in full swing. About a month ago, a solar flare allowed us to observe a superb spectacle in France and around the world. Such a phenomenon, which is becoming less and less rare, occurred again on the evening of September 12, 2024, with the Northern Lights visible from several places, such as Alsace, the Ardennes and the Côte-d’Or, around 9 p.m.
A fan of weather phenomena, Maxime Virieuxshared some magnificent photos from his X account (ex-Twitter). He is of course not the only one, even if it seems that you had to arm yourself with your smartphone to see the northern lights, which had a pink glow that was very beautiful. Astrophysicist at the Côte d’Azur Observatory, Eric Lagadec had warned, a few hours before: “ There is a chance of seeing the aurora tonight…if the weather is nice where you are! » You need a clear sky to observe the northern lights.
