Car incentives 2021. From the electric 500 to the BMW X1e: the models that are entitled to the scrapping bonus

At ten o’clock on Tuesday 26 October the state incentives for electric carsto scrap an old car and buy a new one. The funds available this time amount to 100 million euros and should cover the period from now to the end of the year. This time most of the resources go to vehicles with very low or low environmental impact, i.e. those included in the two bands from 0 to 20 grams of CO2 per km and from 21 to 60 g / km of CO2. In other words, to cars electric and plug-in hybrids and the government’s choice was dictated by the desire to accelerate the transition from conventional to zero-emission cars on the wheel.

Electric car incentives: how the funds are distributed

The funds, as explained by the website ecobonus.mise.gov.it, were distributed as follows: 65 million euros to purchase vehicles with emissions between 0 and 60 g / km of CO2 and the contribution is also recognized for leasing purchases. For the range that includes cars with 0-20 g / km CO2 emissions, the contribution (if an old car with ten or more years is scrapped) is 6,000 euros. If you buy without scrapping it goes down to 4,000 euros. For vehicles with emissions from 21 to 60 g / km of CO2 (plug-in hybrids), you can get a bonus of 2,500 euros with scrapping and 1,500 without. 20 million euros for the purchase of commercial and special vehicles. Of the entire sum, 15 million are reserved for electric vans only. The contribution can reach a maximum of 8,000 euros and differs (as stated on the MISE website) on the basis of the Total Ground Mass – MTT and power supply. 10 million euros for the purchase of new conventional cars with emissions between 61 and 135 g / km of CO2. The contribution of 1,500 euros recognized only in case of scrapping. 5 million euros for the purchase of a Euro 6 approved used vehicle with CO2 emissions of less than 160 g / km. In this case the incentive (in the face of scrapping) can reach up to 2,000 euros (also in this case the emissions affect the amount of the state bonus).

What to buy with auto eco-bonuses

With this new loan we try to support the electricity market which in Italy, as in the rest of Europe is growing with three-digit percentages and which made the Tesla Model 3 the best-selling car in Europe last September and which in Italy has prices ranging from 47,970 to 61,970 euros. The new incentives will certainly benefit the most loved electric by Italians: the Fiat 500e (price list from € 26,500 to € 38,100), or the Dacia Spring (price list from € 20,100 to € 21,600) which is climbing the national ranking and in September was the most sold. . But plug-in hybrids such as the Jeep Renegade 4xe (price list from 39,150 to 41,150 euros) or the BMW X1 25e (from 49,150 to 55,160 euros) are also encouraged.
