Here are the early symptoms of type 2 diabetes that we often don’t realize

JAKARTA (RIAUSKY.COM)Type 2 diabetes is a disorder in the way the body regulates and uses sugar (glucose) as fuel.

This condition causes blood sugar levels to be too high, which triggers disorders of the circulatory, nervous, and immune systems.

Therefore, it is important for us to recognize the early signs of type 2 diabetes.

Early signs of type 2 diabetes can include the following:

1. Frequent urination

When blood sugar levels are high, the kidneys try to get rid of the excess sugar by filtering it out of the blood.

This can cause a person to urinate more often, especially at night.

2. Increased thirst

Frequent urination necessary to remove excess sugar from the blood can cause the body to lose extra water.

Over time, this can lead to dehydration and cause a person to feel thirstier than usual.

3. Always feel hungry

People with diabetes often don’t get enough energy from the food they eat.

The digestive system breaks down food into simple sugars called glucose, which the body uses as fuel.

In people with diabetes, their body cells do not have enough glucose. As a result, people with type 2 diabetes often feel hungry.

4. Feeling very tired
Type 2 diabetes can impact a person’s energy levels and cause them to feel very tired or exhausted.

This fatigue occurs as a result of not enough sugar moving from the bloodstream to the body’s cells.

5. Blurred vision
Excess sugar in the blood can damage the tiny blood vessels in the eye, which can cause blurred vision.

This blurred vision can occur in one or both eyes and can come and go.

If a person with diabetes goes without treatment, the damage to these blood vessels can become more severe, and permanent vision loss may eventually occur.(R02)
