Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indian industry magnate and successful entrepreneur owner Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, became the first Asian to join the exclusive club, the ‘100 Billion Dollar Club’.
This exclusive club currently contains the 11 richest people in the world with a net worth of more than US$ 100 billion each or equivalent to Rp. 1,430 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,300/US$).
Mukesh Ambani himself is the second non-US citizen to join the prestigious club, the same as another tycoon who is also not a US citizen is Bernard Arnault, Boss of luxury goods manufacturer Louis Vuitton.

Billionaires from the tech sector dominate this elite club and reside entirely exclusively in the United States, although Tesla CEO Elon Musk is arguably a hybrid case for leveraging technology to manufacture and market consumer products.
The only tycoon besides Ambani who has made it into the club from the consumer or industrial sector is French billionaire Bernard Arnault. Finally, another billionaire who comes from outside the technology sector is Warren Buffett who managed to amass wealth from the Berkshire Hathaway investment group, also from the United States.
