It won a jury prize, and then it didn’t. Radio DJ Rob Jansen announced on his Instagram that he had won an award at the so-called Party Awards with his alter ego Lamme Frans. But when he announced that he couldn’t come, ‘suddenly someone else won’.
“It was a great honor for us, but we couldn’t come to the ceremony,” says Jansen. “We then offered to record a video, but that was not necessary. And now someone else has won.” In the Most Popular Party Act category, Lamme Frans finished third in the public votes.
On his Instagram, Jansen then asks if it’s a real jury prize or a hidden catering party with free artists. He asks his followers that question.
Carnival numbers
Rob Jansen is known, among other things, as a radio DJ at 3FM. Every year during carnival, his alter ego Lamme Frans appears and he writes carnival songs. He also releases songs under the name Rob from the radio.
According to the group, the Party Awards were created ‘to draw attention to and appreciate Dutch party artists’.
