Eighty percent of the adult population in Belgium is fully vaccinated. Months ago, that was the target for group immunity to be achieved. Today, however, that group immunity seems unachievable. “A myth”, that’s what British professor Andrew Pollard even calls it. “As long as the efficiency of the vaccines does not improve, it does not seem feasible. And yet it remains crucial that everyone is vaccinated,” says biostatistician Tom Wenseleers.
