The city of Herbolzheim had prepared a special surprise for each child and gave everyone a scoop of ice cream from the Bombacher Kronen-Eis van. The joy of the children was clearly noticeable when they enjoyed their balls and were then allowed to pick up fresh, warm popcorn donated by the Herbolzheim colored pencil.
The new playground is a joint project that was developed and built in close cooperation with parents from Herbolzheim, the educational ideas workshop Bagage from Freiburg and the municipal building yard. With a total budget of 85,000 euros, a unique venue has been created – with great attention to detail.
The unique selling point of this playground: the large playground with water, so far unique in Herbolzheim. Here the children can spray, build and have a great time together with their friends to their heart’s content. The water provides a refreshing cool down on warm days and enables the children to have an interactive play experience in the midst of nature.
Another aspect that makes the playground special is the wood used, which comes from our own forest in Herbolzheim. This underlines the natural character of the playground and promotes awareness of the local environment.
The opening of the near-natural playground in the Herbolzheim Entennest was a great success and offered the children an unforgettable time full of fun and adventure. Through the cooperation of the city of Herbolzheim with Herbolzheimer Eltern and Bagage, a valuable enrichment for the community was created with this project. The playground now invites young and old to discover nature and spend carefree hours together.
The desire for a cable car was repeatedly heard from the children on Saturday. However, since the money provided in the budget has accumulated, the city is now hoping for donations to be able to set up the cable car before the end of this year.
As soon as 8000 euros have been raised, the cable car can be ordered. Mayor Thomas Gedemer spontaneously received the first donation of 500 euros on site.
