The greatest reference in para-athletics, Herbert Aceituno, added another feat to his list and won a gold and a silver in the Pattaya 2024 Parapowerlifting World Cup, in Thailand, which the Salvadoran athlete cataloged with great satisfaction for the good work that has been done and they are getting closer to qualifying for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
“Happy to start 2024 on the right foot, the important thing was to be in the ranking and obtaining these two medals gives us the satisfaction that a good job has been done. The expectations that we had with Jorge López were met and we know that all the rivals are strong,” said the athlete after the feat.
The most prominent figure in para-athletics won two medals in the World Cup of sport, after he achieved the silver medal in -59 kg and the gold and the total sum of weights with three valid attempts.
The silver medal came after 187 kg lifted by the Salvadoran in the third attempt with which he secured second place to become one of the dunks taken along with Mustafa Radhi from Iraq with 205 kg and Stanislav Shakiyev from Kazakhstan with 173 kilos.
