Dramas this Monday afternoon on the Hérault coast : three bathers drowned. According to Sdis 34, they were about 40 years old, 44 years old and 68 years old. The firefighters and doctors, the Smur-Samu and the Civil Security helicopter, the Dragon 34 were hired to rescue the victims, in Valras, Marseillan-Plage and Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone.
Red and yellow flag
According to our information, the red flag prohibiting swimming because of a strong swell bringing people out to sea in rollers, was hoisted on Monday on many aid stations, it was yellow on others. It is not yet clear in which exact areas these drownings took place. The firefighters and lifeguards -MNS- proceeded this afternoon to 15 safety measures for swimmers unconscious in great difficulty and treated eight aquastresses.
Beginning of drowning in Palavas-les-Flots
We learn that the firefighters and a medical team intervene this Monday evening on a beach between Palavas-les-Flots and Carnon-Ouest, avenue Saint-Maurice, where a 26-year-old bather was resuscitated, but he is in serious condition. He will be helicoptered in absolute urgency to the Montpellier University Hospital. In addition, a 64-year-old bather died in Aude, in Narbonne-Plage.
