Whether it’s a trip for two around the Etang de Thau or a family trip along a secure route, there is plenty to do.
4000km of cycle routes
From the coast to the hinterland, the Hérault has less than 4000km of cycle routes, including ten MTB-FFC sites, 20 cycle-tourist loops and 650km of cycle facilities, including the Passa Païs greenway. There are two Grandes Traversées, from north to south and from east to west.
Go with your children
If the trip is planned with young children, it is best to choose an easy and safe route such as a greenway. In order to alleviate the bouts of fatigue at the end of the day, it will be necessary to equip oneself with suitable equipment: child seat, trailer, drawbar … The Department recommends not to be “too ambitious on the distance to be covered. What to know before you go:
– The Accueil Vélo label guarantees suitable equipment and services: bicycle storage, repair and pump kit, tourist documentation, plug to recharge your VAE or phone, luggage transfer, etc.
– To travel light: it is possible to reserve a mailbox. To guarantee maximum comfort for cycle tourists, a Malle Postale service has been set up around the Passa Païs greenway, on the Canal du Midi and on the way to Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert. This luggage, passenger and bicycle transport service allows for lighter travel.
