Hérault: no longer paid since December, 57 FG express deliverers dismissed without notice

The company whose head office is in Lunel will file for bankruptcy. And employees have just learned about it by email from their management.

“I inform you by this email that I am filing for bankruptcy […] I can no longer pay your wages and diesel, so there is no point in showing up at your post. I ask you to return the diesel card, badge and vehicles Monday morning at 9 am (February 17) at the head office “(located in Lunel).

Not paid in January and February

This is the message signed by the management of FG Express that 57 employees received by email on Friday, February 14. They hadn’t touched their January and February income when they heard the news, and immediately walked out.

They are brutally dismissed

“The employees had already suffered wage delays, which they had denounced in a petition in February 2019, informs Guillaume Griveau, of the CGT FAPT 34. But there, they are dismissed brutally, while they were working from 10 to 12 hours, five to six days a week, for a salary lower than the minimum wage! “

“The situation is dramatic since around 50 families are affected by the redundancies, even if some employees have been taken over by other companies,” said manager Julie Jeintrat, who had created FG Express in 2015, with partners. This subcontracting delivery company spread throughout the Languedoc-Roussillon region and beyond.

About fifty families

“I fought to the end but it was not enough. The competition is increasingly fierce in the messaging sector, specifies the manager. The principals (Chronopost, DPD, FedEx, TNT, La Poste, Fiducial …) are making good margins but tightening the screw on subcontractors. Some lower their prices once or twice a year and are more and more demanding. “

A competitive environment

Despite a capital increase from € 47,000 to € 100,000, in November 2019, FG Express failed to survive in this highly competitive environment. Lay-off workers are now fighting for their January and February wages. They have just filed an application for interim measures, with the support of the CGT FAPT 34.
