And the prefect of Hérault prohibited from July 13 to 15 the sale and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic articles pour the details due to the particularly high level of fire risk, the weather forecasts allow Hugues Moutouh to leave to the municipalities of the department the decision of maintain their fireworks drawn on July 13 or 14.
Prohibited for individuals
A prefectural decree signed by Hugues Moutouh prohibits, throughout the Hérault department, from July 13, 2022 at 7 a.m. to July 15, 2022 at 8 a.m., the transfer, sale and use of firecrackers from categories F1 to F4 , C1 to C4, pyrotechnic articles of categories T1, T2, P1 and P2, as well as any device for launching these products.
This measure does not apply to persons or companies holding an approval or a qualification certificate within the framework of their professional activity.
The choice left to the municipalities
Furthermore, in view of the latest weather forecasts, no general ban on the firing of fireworks organized in the Hérault communes will be taken by the prefectural authority. The municipalities may however, depending on local circumstances, use their police powers to prohibit these pyrotechnic shows.
These administrative measures aim to guarantee the best level of safety for people and property during the festivities of July 13 and 14, 2022 throughout the Hérault department.
