Hérault: construction, this sector which is still building careers

Capeb and Pôle emploi partners in a recruitment session in the construction sector.

Create vocations, make the eyes shine, connect recruiters and job seekers. These are the objectives posted by Pôle emploi in Clermont-l’Hérault. This Tuesday, in partnership with Capeb, the local officials of the structure presented recruitment opportunities in the construction sector on the territory to candidates registered on this action.

An almost normal level of job offers

Because with health, personal assistance and agriculture, “building” is one of the promising sectors. Director of the Clermont-Ferrand agency, Élisabeth Frindel specifies that, specifically in this sector, “We have noticed that companies are facing real recruitment difficulties. And this cyclical difficulty is confirmed in Occitania where 65% of recruitment projects are declared difficult by recruiters, against 48% in other sectors.”

Hérault and Haute-Garonne remain the two main regional job providers in this area, while “despite the crisis, in the construction industry, the level of job offers has almost returned to normal”. Faced with this situation, the public establishment seeks to match offers and demands. Marilyne Garcia, in charge of “recruiting action” at Pôle emploi de Clermont-l’Hérault, planned the day, putting twenty candidates against twenty positions.

In this field, whose working conditions are often perceived as difficult, “the idea is really to offer a development of skills that the territory would need for those who are already registered in this sector. Or to arouse vocations for certain audiences, such as young people”. On the territory, the most proposed positions in construction are: masons, road workers, road works, laborers, carpenters, machine operator or electricians, heating plumber or plasterer … And aluminum carpenter: “A real niche for jobs!”
