The Hérault department is launching work on its 19th carpooling area in the Saint-Martin-de-Londres sector, on the RD 986 between Ganges and Montpellier.

This new carpooling area, created by the department of Hérault along the RD 986, on the axis which connects Ganges and Montpellier, will have 34 parking spaces. Located in the area of ​​the village of Saint-Martin-de-Londres, at the foot of Cévènes, this area will also be equipped with a charging station for electric vehicles. This will be the 19th carpooling relay zone created by the department which has just put into service an equivalent area at Montbazin.

Carpooling, bicycle, bus and Rézo Pouce

Work on this new Hérault carpooling area will begin on May 25 and last two months. So that the greatest number of inhabitants can reach this car park, the department has planned to install individual and secure boxes for bicycles as well as a Rézo Pouce meeting point and a new bus stop meeting standards. ‘accessibility. “This carpooling area was designed as a real relay point between the different modes of transport”, welcomes the department which will finance 93% of 240,000 euros that should cost the site. The rest of the work being taken care of by the town hall of Saint-Martin-de-Londres.
