This Saturday, January 21, the “Anzû Quartet” will perform in the “Cēsis” Concert Hall – an association consisting of several veterans of New York’s lively contemporary music community.
The musicians of “Anzû Quartet” have considerable experience, have earned the recognition of critics and other musicians around the world, and have also played a significant role in establishing and strengthening the activities of several important New York chamber music ensembles. The lineup includes such names as cellist Ashley Bassgate, violinist Olivia De Preto, clarinetist Ken Thomson and pianist Carl Larson – all of whom have participated in the premieres of works by several of today’s most prominent composers in the world’s most prestigious concert halls.
New music by American, Mexican and Iranian composers will be performed in the program “Jauna muzika/New music”. “It is an opportunity for Latvian listeners to feel the breath and pulse of the world, to get to know a new musical language and sound,” the organizers of the concert enticed.
