The Festos Palace ship left Heraklion for Piraeus at the scheduled time on Sunday evening, but during the journey it was deemed necessary to hospitalize a 9-year-old child.
The 9-year-old child had to be taken to a hospital and the captain of the Festos Palace decided to change course so that the ship would return to Heraklion. The rest of the passengers were informed about the development, many of whom saw a little later the minor boy leaving the city’s port in an ambulance for hospital. The minor had been examined by a doctor on board. It was deemed necessary to transport him to a hospital and the procedures “ran” quickly.
The ship had departed on its regular route to Piraeus at 21:00 on Easter Sunday, but about an hour after setting sail and while the ship was about 50 nautical miles away, the child’s parents called for help from the crew.
A doctor who examined the 9-year-old deemed it necessary to transfer him to a nursing facility. The captain who was informed immediately gave the order to reverse the course of the ship.
As soon as the ship docked at the port of Heraklion, an EKAV ambulance that was at the scene picked up the unfortunate child and took him to the hospital.
Then the ship left again for the port of Piraeus and arrived late in the morning.
