Maria responded to Militsa Gladnishka’s blow after she criticized the singer after her participation in “The Voice of Bulgaria”.

Here is the comment Ilieva wrote:

On Sunday I had the pleasure to sing with Boris Hristov at the finale of “The Voice of Bulgaria”. finale of a musical format in which the whole of Bulgaria is staring when victory is at hand, is a very difficult task for each participant. This year “Voice of Bulgaria” was at a particularly high level and gave a chance to extremely talented people. Everyone won their zealous audience that supported him. Naturally, the final became an arena of the hottest and polar passions, because although the contenders were equal, only one of them can become a winner. It was an honor for me to support Boris in this noble battle, in which there are no losers.

However, some of his fans were disappointed and this, as expected, gave rise to negative comments even against me. Someone must always be to blame. This is normal, part of the game, we are used to. An unjustly vicious comment about my professionalism and character – that of Militsa Gladnishka, made me think about our entire guild. The way I sang with this nice boy, who at the rehearsals managed to make Ivan Lechev cry with his performance, was an “ugly deed” because he almost failed.

Public evaluations from artist to artist can be made from the height of the achievements and the space that the great love and support of the audience gives. For over 20 years of solo career and 15 years of previous musical training, I sing like this. Most of my colleagues are impressive musicians with personal touch, creativity and history. In their world, malice has no place, we support and help each other, with an understanding of the difficult context in which we create and try to realize our passion for music. That is why the example of Militsa’s unleashed malice is more than sad.

I recently read a wonderful story – in a small Italian town, the mayor banned hate on the Internet by decree. Violators were punished by reading books and visiting theater productions. How nice! I have nothing to say but to wish everyone a good wish for the upcoming holidays – be healthy, appreciate work, talent, professionalism and pure intentions, read books, go to the theater, cultivate goodness. There are so many wonderful and talented people in our tiny territory!
