Her son should not grow up in a luxury bubble

Wolke Hegenbarth (44) wants to give her four-year-old son a wide range of experiences. This includes him getting to know a world beyond our affluent society. A trip to Africa offered the perfect opportunity for this.

Precious encounters in Africa

The actress (‘My Life & I’) combined the valuable lesson for little Avi with a visit to her godchild in Mozambique, which she organized together with the aid organization Plan international. From a scheduled flight to a propeller plane, then from Inhambane by jeep – after a long journey, Wolke and Avi finally met ten-year-old Neuisa. “A trip like this is a gift for a child. When it leaves its own bubble and thinks outside the box,” said Wolke in an interview with ‘Bunte’. Who knows whether Avi appreciated that at his age – but he immediately felt at ease without any reservations when he was able to play with the other children: “My heart melted when Avi enthusiastically played soccer with the children there after five minutes. I didn’t see him for two hours,” enthused his mother.

Wolke Hegenbarth and Avi love Mozambique

The visit was just as exciting for Wolke and Avi as it was for the hosts: “We were the first Europeans to visit the village community, which was very special,” she explained. On Instagram, she posted a photo of her little one playing football with the village kids, and wrote: “This trip is my very personal gift to Avi. I’m giving him the opportunity to think outside the box. I’m giving him the opportunity to get used to new things and to enjoy the unknown. I’m giving him the opportunity to be open to everything.” She commented on a short clip showing the green landscape from the car window: “Such a beautiful country. The most beautiful palm trees.” The nights under the southern starry sky will also remain unforgettable for Wolke Hegenbarth and her son: “Avi and I look at the stars for a short time every evening. He: it’s as if we were in space.”
