The Egyptian broadcaster, Mohamed El-Gheity, withdrew during its run of the “Cairo Today” program due to a telephone intervention by the retired artist, Abeer Al-Sharqawi.
Al-Ghaiti became angry after Al-Sharqawi’s speech, in which she responded to his criticisms of “The Weeping Laughing” series, saying, “I am shocked by the truth.”
He cut her off, saying, “It’s just a question, who is this character to criticize? I’m just going to walk.”

He added, who is the author of this series: “She said we were fixed in a post. This is her father who disowned her in front of me while he was sitting with me in his office. I refuse that he is doing a intervention”.
