The victim does not lock the door when returning home on 12 January 2021, early afternoon, Hayange. She is on the stairs when she is caught by two attackers. She receives a first stab in the chest. She is dragged down the corridor, gripped and beaten with fists. Then her knife pierces her arm and back when she is down.
The young man manages to sneak up to the front door. His attackers try to hold him back by pulling on the hood of his sweater. He pulls himself out of his robe and runs away from the neighbor who picks him up, covered in blood. Seriously injured, he will tell the police detectives of his ordeal in his hospital bed. Thirty days of total incapacity for work are prescribed for him. He suffers from pneumothorax, multiple hematomas, a dozen perforations on his body.
Detained in another case
Victim’s ex-girlfriend arrested. I’m in conflict over custody of my son. Two men were also arrested. One of them, Adrien, is the girl’s partner at the time. According to him, she designed it all. He would have obeyed “out of love”. He went to the victim’s house with “his he cousin”. They beat her. But he denies the stab wounds.
He maintained his version before the Thionville court on Wednesday, dressed all in black. “I didn’t hit, it’s not my story,” defends his aide, Alexandre, in white overalls.
The two defendants, around 30 years old, know each other well. They particularly agree with a ruling handed down by the Briey court in February. They received, respectively, three years and four years in prison for a mirror case of aggravated violence.
“Extremely Dangerous”
They weren’t alone at the helm on Wednesday. The victim’s ex partner is being investigated for complicity. The investigation accuses him of having provided the elements that allowed the attackers to identify the victim and track her down. Which she denies.
“The lady staged her innocence,” points out the deputy prosecutor. The magistrate takes note of the death threats against the ex, published on social media. He also overwhelms the other two defendants, denouncing “their extreme danger”.
Above all, he regrets that Alexandre is retiring to court, for fear of reprisals. “The cousin”, called in reinforcement the day of the attack, was the first to recognize the presence of a knife during his hearings.
“In this case, we believe that speech is not free,” replies Alexandre’s lawyer, Mand Greuzat. He regrets unnecessary inquiries. “In a year, nothing else has been established. Three to five years in prison
The prosecutor demands five years in prison against Adrien, the alleged leader of this punitive expedition. Four years in prison against his “cousin”, Alexandre. Three years against the ex partner. The magistrate also requests, for all the defendants, the interdiction from going to the victim’s home and making contact for three years as well as the interdiction from possession of weapons for fifteen years.
The victim, physically and psychologically scarred, did not speak at the hearing. The court will issue its decision on Friday.
