Her er Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

On Thursday night, Sony unveiled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake – a remade version of the well-known BioWare role-playing game from the early 2000s.

Aspyr is behind the new edition, which according to PlayStation Blog on the console front will only be available on PlayStation 5 at launch (which implies that a PC version will be released at the same time) – and that’s pretty much all we know so far. The game will be built from the ground up, so this is not the same old game with a new coat of paint.

You can see above the unveiling trailer, which showed rather little.

Earlier this year we wrote about credible rumors about just such an issue. Then we mentioned that other rumors have previously claimed that there has been talk of incorporating parts from both the original game and the sequel The Sith Lords, and that it will be facilitated to establish the new version as part of the official Star Wars -cannon. For now, we should take it with a pinch of salt.

Famous role-playing games

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was developed by BioWare in the early 2000s, in the years before they started creating their own worlds with Mass Effect. and the Dragon Age games. The role-playing game used a variant of the d20 role-playing game system for Wizards of the Coast, with a structure where you can pause the game to set up commands.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords.

The game takes place four thousand years before the Star Wars movies, where we follow the conflict between Darth Malak, Darth Revan and the Jedi Order in the Republic.

A few years later came the Obsidian-developed sequel Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords, which contained a new story and several innovations. The sequel got some accolades for being quite messy and unfinished at launch, but was hailed for its story. The fans have since worked to complete as much as possible of what the developers did not get to release.

Both games are subsequently recognized as strong contributions in the role-playing game genre.
