Hepatitis C is a blood or sexually transmitted disease Similar to hepatitis B, the early stages can cause acute hepatitis. But most patients show no symptoms. If left untreated it will lead to cirrhosis and the possibility of developing liver cancer
Risk group
- Has a history of blood transfusion before 1991 (the year the virus was tested)
- injectable drug users
- tattoo artist with dirty tools
- chronic kidney disease patients treated with dialysis
- HIV patient
how to protect yourself
- Avoid using tattoo equipment. or share syringes with others
- Wear gloves if you come into contact with blood.
- Wear condoms if you have multiple sexual partners.
- Annual physical exam to evaluate liver function
