Heos app for Denon Home gets update with handy equalizer

Denon has announced that users of the Denon Home system can now download an update for the accompanying Heos app. The update adds a handy equalizer that may be able to fix some audio output issues.

Sometimes it is possible that the placement of the speaker creates a distorted sound. For example in the field of bass or treble. With an update for the Heos app for Denon Home, the manufacturer tries to solve that problem, using Placement EQ. This takes into account the location when operating the bass response (freestanding, close to a wall or on a shelf, in the corner).

The Placement EQ installation works in real time. So you can switch between the three settings and the effect is immediately audible. The bass response can be tailored to your music and personal taste. The existing and standard bass / treble controls will also continue to exist, so you can continue to adjust the sound reproduction manually.

Denon Home speakers have controls on the top for volume, play / pause and preset buttons. Thanks to the latest firmware update, you can skip songs using a control button on the Denon Home speaker, without having your phone handy.

If you press the play / pause button once, the song will be paused. If you press the play / pause button twice, you can skip to the next track. If you press three times, the previous song is played or the current song is restarted.

The Denon Home speaker must be turned on and connected to the internet to receive the Heos update immediately upon opening the Heos app. If you opted for automatic updates when setting up the speaker, the update should already be available on the device. The update is available for Denon Home 150, 250 and 350.
