Henry Cavill has had an inspired career. In recent years he has appeared on Netflix as Geralt in The Witcherbefore which he played Superman in the DC Extended Universe and now he will embark on his next project: a reboot of the fantasy film Highlander.
The film will be directed by Chad Stahelski, known for, among others John Wick. The project has been in the news for some time, but now it is finally official. Production will start in 2024.
An icon from the 80s
The original Highlander was released in 1986 and was so successful that it had no fewer than four sequels. The film was about a life-and-death struggle between immortal warriors, which took place on the streets of New York.
At the time, well-known names such as Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown were still involved. It is not yet known which other actors will join Henry Cavill in the new version.
