He was part of this great team of Reyniès, double finalist of a Cup of the South against Cazères, which illuminated the village, after vespers, on the municipal stadium of the village today reserved for rugby; it was the time of the Honorary Division within the Ligue du Midi, the national level 3 of the time: the era of an exceptional generation, that of the trainer Georges Bac, of Berneyron, Gautier , Fernado, Arqué, Bonnet, Gamel, quicksilver Pépito Lopez… but also international amateur, the esthete goalkeeper Jean Gayet. Henri Sahuc played in this team of stars in the position of attacking midfielder, “inter droit”, the name of the time; scientific environment, sort of Guillas, the former Bordeaux he loved the game, liked to bring this technical touch made of short dribbles, millimeter openings, so many offerings for his teammates in the attack. The future director of the renowned Montauban annex school, had then spread the word on the side of Cazes, forming with his companion Bergonzat a duo of technicians who sowed terror on the various departmental and regional lands; Henri’s kindness and courtesy went beyond the framework of the green rectangle, and many former students certainly remember his qualities as a teacher, his attachment to values.
