Henny Reistad stepped forward when it was most needed.

In the last second, the Norwegian star decided the overtime drama against Denmark with his 15th goal.

Now awaits the WC final for Norway, who won 29–28.

It was a rarely seen World Cup shocker that unfolded in Herning.

Norway had not been in the lead for the entire match and were down by five goals after the first half.

Then the Norwegian pickup began.

Norway ate into the match and with only 55 seconds left they had the lead for the first time. But a Danish penalty goal with four seconds left took the underdog to overtime.

There the drama got even bigger.

The teams were followed all the way into the match, but in the absolute last second of the match, Henny Reistad stepped forward and decided.

– It is absolutely unbelievable, says Viaplay’s expert Claes Hellgren in the broadcast.

The big star was a force to be reckoned with for Norway, scoring 15 goals and all of Norway’s goals in extra time – but despite that, she was not named player of the match.

The goalkeeper played great

Otherwise, the Danes started at a furious pace.

The offense cracked while goalkeeper Althea Reinhardt played great. The red and whites quickly went up to 5–1 and after the first half they led by five balls, 14–9.

One who impressed greatly in the first half was Denmark’s middle six Kathrine Heindahl, who was top scorer with her four goals. But at the beginning of the second half, ugly scenes unfolded.

Brought out in tears

Heindahl was hit in the knee and was lying in great pain. The Dane could not get off on his own machine and was carried out in tears by two leaders and further out of the arena.

– No, I don’t want to see it, says Claes Hellgren.

– I have seen that far too often. It is not wise, he continues.

The injury came in a situation where Norway had slowly but surely eaten into the match and the Danish lead was shrinking more and more and the match went to extra time.

Henny Reistad decided there and Norway won 29–28.
