When Henk enters his room, it is traditionally full of old photos and memories. In one of the photos, Beau sees the tattoo artist in his youthful glory. “This boy here is so incredibly handsome, almost a kind of super human,” says the presenter.
“My first marriage just ended here. At the time I was dating some incredibly beautiful, young models. They also took me to Japan. Yes, this is where I broke free and I knew exactly what I wanted,” says Henk.
No misery
Although the tattoo artist has had periods when things went less well, he has always been happy. “I’ve always had a good time,” he says. “I can’t not be happy, then I will find a way out of it. I don’t like misery.”
Still, Henk had a hard time when his wife Louise turned out to be seriously ill. “I really thought I was going to lose her and then I was sent to a psychiatrist. He quickly told me that there was nothing wrong with me. According to him, I was a bomb of energy, but I was already in mourning. I had accepted that my wife was dying, even though she wasn’t dead yet. When I realized that, I was done with it immediately.”
