The Weerter vlaai can be removed from the refrigerator: May 1 is already the most beautiful day of the year for 15 Postcode Loterij participants from Weert in Limburg. The very first KoningsKanjer ever fell on their zip code (6002 AR). The lucky winners will share half of the millions of euros (18.35 million euros) with each other. The other half goes to Postcode Lottery participants who play along with the winning district code (the first four digits of the zip code: 6002).
The fifteen lucky ones who play along with the entire winning zip code will divide half of the KoningsKanjer of 36.7 million euros (18.35 million euros) among each other. They accept checks ranging from 965,789 euros to 2,897,368 euros.
Henk and Ciska are surprised by Caroline Tensen with a check for 1,931,578 euros. Ciska: “I have been working in the hospitality industry for forty years. My dream came true when I opened my own lunchroom two years ago. I want to renovate my business with the price. Then all my customers will enjoy it. We will soon go on holiday to Ireland with the market vendors who are always with us on the square. We treat all those boys to a round there. It’s going to be a party!”
Neighbors are also in prizes
Not only Postcode Lottery participants who play with the winning postcode will receive prizes. Their fellow neighbors whose postal code starts with 6002, also participate. How much they win per ticket will be festively announced on Saturday 7 May.
