New Delhi –
Semifinal India Open 2022 will be held today. The following is the complete schedule.
The semifinals of the India Open 2022 will be held at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, Saturday (15/1/2022) starting at 14.30 WIB. Indonesia leaves one representative in this phase, namely the men’s doubles duo Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.
The Daddies, as they are commonly called, will compete in fifth place. They will meet Malaysian representatives, Ong Yew Sin / Teo Ee Yi.
According to BWF records, the pair have met three times, all in 2019. Hendra/Ahsan managed to win twice, namely at the Australian Open (June) and the French Open (October). Meanwhile, Ong/Teo won once at the Thailand Open (July).
After not seeing each other for more than two years, Hendra/Ahsan will face Ong/Teo again. Despite winning head-to-head, The Daddies never underestimate their opponents who are considered to have improved rapidly since they last met.
“Our last meeting was a long time ago, in 2019 but now I see that their game is neater. Hopefully tomorrow (Saturday) we can play well and win,” said Ahsan on Friday (14/1), in a PBSI release.
Semifinal India Open 2022 broadcast by iNews and only played 8 matches, all on court 1. Two matches on court 2 were canceled and the side that couldn’t compete was declared a Walkover (WO) loser.
