Former Karopaminal Divpropam Polri Hendra Kurniawan admitted that he had never received AKBP Arif Rachman’s report regarding the CCTV Brigadier N Yosua Hutabarat being still alive which he watched on Kompol Baiquni Wibowo’s laptop. Hendra claimed that if he knew the CCTV, he would report the leadership.
“If at that time Arif Rachman really conveyed to you the contents of the video he was watching, what would your attitude be?” Hendra’s lawyer asked Hendra when he was questioned as a defendant in a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Friday (13/1/2023).
“I will behave, I will report to the highest leadership, for sure, it can’t be like this,” said Hendra.
It is known, in the previous witness examination session, Hendra denied AKBP Arif’s statement when testifying at his trial. Hendra admitted that he did not receive Arif’s report after Arif watched CCTV showing Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat still alive.
Even though Arif said he reported it to Hendra. In fact, Arif was also brought by Hendra to meet Ferdy Sambo.
“I deny, sir, that I have never met to report that what I have was called on July 14 by Mr. FS at 10 am on the phone to assist in examining witnesses by South Jakarta investigators at Dirtipidum. I reported the results of the activity then I reported the CCTV problem ,” said Hendra in response to Arif Rahman’s testimony at the hearing on December 6, 2022.
Returning to Hendra’s testimony at the defendant’s examination, Hendra also said that Sambo was close to his members, one of whom was Arif.
“You know how close sambo is to your men?” asked the lawyer.
“They were former members of the dirtipidum,” said Hendra.
“Until they were finally taken to Divpropam Polri?” asked the lawyer.
“Yes, there are y!, % as a matter of fact, there is a police chief like Arif being withdrawn as deputy B,” replied Hendra.
Hendra just found out that CCTV Yosua is alive from investigators
Regarding the CCTV video recording showing that Yosua was still alive, Hendra admitted that he knew from investigators. He even admitted that he had just watched the tape while in court.
“You said you didn’t know about the video and you knew from the investigator, right? What was your reaction when you found out what the video was about?” asked the judge.
“I’m just confused, Your Honor, it’s just that the investigator said this video was from Baiquni’s place. That means what was obtained at Baiquni’s residence,” said Hendra.
Hendra also admitted that he just found out that a laptop had been tampered with in this case when investigators told him the pieces of the laptop.
“Yes, it was said that this was found, some were destroyed. If I’m not mistaken, I was shown the pieces, I don’t know, he said, now this has been destroyed,” explained Hendra.
Hendra Kurniawan was examined as a defendant in this trial. Hendra was charged with violating Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 and Article 48 in conjunction with Article 32 paragraph (1) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of -1 of the Criminal Code and Article 233 of the Criminal Code and Article 221 paragraph 1-2 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
