The mobile unit of Hemocentro, the La Paz blood bank, has a painting by Roberto Mamani Mamani. The piece was financed by the pharmaceutical company Bagó.
The paint will line the Hemocentro wagon. It comes from an original painting, which is in the company’s offices. It was made in acrylic on canvas and entitled Your blood will save another life. It portrays an Aymara family at the time of donating blood.
“We want to thank Master Mamani Mamani for having embodied in a work all the feeling and the noble mission that the Hemocenter has. They are achievements that go beyond saving lives, as they transmit this cause and fill us with inspiration ”, stated during the delivery ceremony María Renée Centellas, General Manager of the pharmaceutical company.

For her part, Linda Ramírez, CSR Coordinator of the company, highlighted the effort carried out by the blood bank: “Bagó is grateful that Hemocentro carries out this noble task of promoting the donation of blood and plasma, as well as platelets for people with cancer. That is why we decided to contribute to this cause, in line with our vision of solidarity and our objectives of sustainable development ”.
With this support, the art was updated to relaunch this awareness campaign. Mobility runs throughout the city.
“A work of art is sometimes worth a thousand words in terms of what people can interpret when donating blood. Sometimes it is not easy for our community, and we must be aware of it. This image will try to make the message clear so that people can practice ayni, an essential word in the Andean world, that is to say: when you receive, you have to give back ”, concluded Mamani Mamani.
