Timo Hübers’ contract with 1. FC Köln expires in the summer of 2023, and the billy goat club would like to extend it. “I wouldn’t mind Timo Hübers if he stayed longer,” explains Managing Director Christian Keller. Initial talks are underway, the outcome of which is considered open. In addition to the possibility of Hübers being extended, his contract includes an option that binds him until 2024 if he plays a certain number of games this season. This should be above 20. A clause that should be helpful to FC in the contract talks. Because if everything stays the same at Hübers in terms of health and sport, he should break this mark. The 26-year-old centre-back, who returned on a free transfer from Hannover 96 a year ago, made 23 competitive appearances for FC (one goal) last season – his first in the Bundesliga.
