The story of the nativity play with the Herdmann children has already become very famous on NDR: the reading has been part of the radio Christmas for decades, presented by Henning Venske. This tradition will be maintained this year too.

The worst nativity play ever

The Herdmann children are the worst children ever. They lie, steal, smoke cigars and drive the neighbors to despair. Now they are apparently planning a new nastiness that will overshadow everything before: all of the siblings show up for the preliminary discussion of the Christmas nativity play and grab all the roles. Charlie’s mother, who organizes everything, tries to keep her nerve. But the way the rehearsals are going, she, like many others, is expecting the worst nativity play of all time.
