JAKARTA – Head of the Medical Examination Section of Siloam Hospitals Surabaya, dr. Vania Wijaya said that Vitamin D can help reduce the risk of respiratory tract infections and increase immunity.
In his press statement, Doctor Vania said that because of its important role in reducing the risk of respiratory tract infections and increasing immunity, Vitamin D should be considered as a potential option in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

He says that the normal range of Vitamin D in the blood is 30 to 50 ng/ml.

If the level of Vitamin D in the blood exceeds 100 ng/ml, it continues, then will cause an accumulation of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia), whose symptoms include nausea and vomiting; weak, tired, and lethargic; and frequent urination.
Therefore, he also conveyed the importance of checking the levels of Vitamin D in the blood to avoid the effects of excess Vitamin D.
He said that vitamin D intake can be increased by sunbathing, eating foods rich in vitamin D, or taking vitamin supplements.
