Helmut Zierl has been in a relationship with his partner Sabrina for twelve years. Now the two have finally taken the big step in front of the altar.
Helmut Zierl wanted to “get married in my 60s”
“I said yes two days before my big birthday because I wanted to get married in my 60s. Sabrina and I have been in a long-distance relationship for twelve years,” explains the TV star. “It’s the second marriage for both of us and neither of us really wanted it.”
But then he proposed to his loved one, “but not because we are now expecting a child, as some might think,” he clarifies and adds: “In the entire time, Sabrina has traveled around the world around three and a half times To see me at my place of residence in Lütjensee. I said to myself: This woman must be true love. I have to marry her now.”

On October 4th, 2024 the time had come. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends in the registry office in Trittau near Hamburg. The wedding reception afterwards took place in the “Vitalia Seehotel” in Bad Segeberg. Despite the marriage, the two will continue to have a long-distance relationship for the time being. Sabrina is now working more in the home office so that the couple can spend more time together.
With Helmut Zierl and his Sabrina it just fits
There is no question that things just fit with Helmut and Sabrina. “She doesn’t want to change me or re-educate me like I experienced before. I was constantly picked on,” Zierl previously told “Bild”. And Sabrina also raved about her lover, saying he was a “tender, loving man, a gentleman” who pampered her, was attentive, generous and charming.
Helmut Zierl separated from his wife Christine in 2001. He was then in a relationship with fellow actress Saskia Valencia, 60, for around ten years. She didn’t seem to have fond memories of their time together. “The relationship with Helmut Zierl cost me a lot of energy and time – and I could have really given it to myself,” was her bitter conclusion to “Bunte” last year.
