Red Bull motorsport consultant Helmut Marko has received an official written warning from the FIA for comments made towards Sergio Perez after the Italian Grand Prix.
On the air of the Servus TV channel, Marco explained the fact that Sergio Perez cannot show the same results as Max Verstappen driving an identical car as cultural factors. Formula 1 condemned Marco, and the Austrian apologized to the Mexican Red Bull Racing driver. Now there has been a reaction from the FIA.
“We can confirm that Helmut Marko has received a written warning,” an FIA spokesman confirmed to Britain’s Sky Sports. “He was reminded that he has a responsibility as a public figure under the FIA Code of Ethics.”
